Born near Dalmeny, Saskatchewan, Wilmer passed away in Fresno at the age of 89.

Wilmer grew up and worked on the Canadian prairies, until he came to Fresno in
1947, to attend Pacific Bible Institute (now FPU), where he met and married
Eugenia Fowler in 1949.

After ordination, Wilmer entered overseas Christian service until 1964,
including ten years in Colombia, South America. After raising their family of
four children in Colombia and Connecticut, they moved to Fresno.

Wilmer continued his Christian service, including many years as the minister of
the Dinuba MB Spanish Church and West Park MB Church, while employed as the
Manager of Manchester Center until his retirement.

Wilmer was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia "Jean"; parents and two
brothers-in-law.

He is survived by six brothers and sisters, Ruby Pauls, Walter Quiring, Louise
Quiring, Viola Neufeld, Art Quiring and Sophie Esau; his wife, Edna Jantz
Quiring; and four children and their spouses, Naomi and Yukio Mizumoto, Phebe
and Richard Wahl, Lois and Steven Ewert and John and Karen Quiring. He leaves
eight grandchildren who loved Grandpa dearly, and dozens of nieces, nephews and
cousins.

Visitation will be at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, from
2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at North Fresno MB Church on Wednesday, November
19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m.

Luncheon will be served following services at the church in celebration of
Wilmer's life.

Remembrances in Wilmer's name may be made to the Mennonite Brethren Missions and
Services in Fresno, Ca.
