Individual Note: Irvin Jerome Quiring, the son of John J. and Justina (Goossen) Quiring was born
on September 22, 1918, at Mountain Lake, MN. He received his education at the
German Bible School and Mountain Lake Public Schools. On June 1, 1941, Irvin was
baptized upon confession of his faith and received as a member of the Bethel
Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, and this is where he remained a life long
member. Irvin was united in marriage to Lorraine Peters on March 28, 1947, at
the Bethel Mennonite Church.They made their home and farmed north of Mountain
Lake until moving into Mountain Lake in 1956. He also worked at Toro
Manufacturing for 24 years. Irvin enjoyed watching animals and birds, and he was
an avid reader. Irvin J. Quiring, age 86, of Mountain Lake, MN, died on Sunday,
January 30, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Irvin is
survived by his wife, Lorraine Quiring of Mountain Lake, MN; two daughters,
Barbara and her husband Donald Jacques of Bloomington, MN, and Sharlene Quiring
of Brooklyn Park, MN; two grandchildren, Gordon Jacques and Nicole Jacques; many
other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four
brothers, John D. Quiring, Walter Quiring, Oscar Quiring and William Quiring;
and two sisters, Olga Quiring and Bertha Peters.

Individual Note: Berniece Kastner, 84 of Lamberton, died Monday Dec. 27, 1999.
She is servived by her husband, Armin of Lamberton; sister, Lila Ness of
Webster, Wis.: brother, Donald and his wife Arlis Quiring of Lamberton;
sisters-in-law, Loretta Quiring of Lamberton, Shirley Quiring of Bloomington,
Cal., and Edna Erickson of Pharr, Texas, brother-in-law, Elmer Kastner of
McIntosh; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona MAttison, Vivian
Quiring and Lilace Quiring, brothers Elton, Lawrence and Walter Quiring.
She was born July 17, 1915, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Peter
J. and Mena (Ellingson) Quiring. She attended country school. She married Armin
G. Kastner on March 12, 1944, at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton.
Individual Note: Berniece Kastner, 84 of Lamberton, died Monday Dec. 27, 1999.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with
burial in the Lamberton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home
in Lamberton, and will continue one hour before the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Armin of Lamberton; sister, Lila Ness of
Webster, Wis.; brother, Donald and his wife Arlis Quiring of Lamberton;
sisters-in-law, Loretta Quiring of Lamberton, Shirley Quiring of Bloomington,
Calif., and Edna Erickson of Pharr, Texas; brother-in-law, Elmer Kastner of
McIntosh; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leona Mattison, Vivian
Quiring and Lilace Quiring; brothers Elton, Lawrence and Walter Quiring.

Armin G. Kastner on March 12, 1944, at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The
couple farmed west of Lamberton. They moved into Lamberton in 1984. She became a
resident of Valley View Nursing Home in March. She was a member of Our Savior's
Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Altar Guild. She and her husband served as
custodians at the church for many years.
