Family Note: QUIRING _ Theodore Werner (Ted) 1934 - 2002 It is with great sadness that the
family of Theodore Werner Quiring announce the passing of their husband and
father on Monday, September 16, 2002, at the age of 68. At home, surrounded by
loved ones, Ted passed away peacefully in his sleep. He will be greatly missed.
Ted was born and raised in the small farming community of Namaka, Alberta. He
attended high school in Coaldale, Alberta, and then university in Calgary. Ted
spent most of his life as an educator in the Calgary public school system. He
was also an entrepreneur, owning and operating several small businesses before
retiring in 1996. Through much of his life, Ted also remained close to his first
love, farming. He enjoyed working the land his parents still owned in Namaka,
and often lent help to relatives on their own farms. Ted's greatest joy,
however, was being among family, and for this he will be remembered and missed
most of all. Ted leaves behind his loving wife, Elsie; his daughter Shari; two
sons, Michael and Brad; and daughter-in-law Sara. He is also survived by three
brothers, George, Abe (Anne), and Al (Lily); four sisters, Lydia (Jake), Agatha
(Arnold), Bertha (John), and Esther (Ken). Ted was predeceased by his first
wife, and children's mother, Clara. He was also predeceased by his parents,
George and Anna; parents-in-law, Abram and Ann, and sister Annie. In living
memory of Ted Quiring, a tree will be planted at Nose Creek Valley by McINNIS &
