QUIRING, 82, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died of cancer on Tuesday, July 7th.
Elmer was born on May 23, 1927 in Bessie, Oklahoma the son of Peter J. and
Helena Dalke Quiring. In 1928 the family moved to Madrid, Nebraska. They
settled in Dallas, Oregon in 1943. Elmer married Irene Unger on November 23,
1951 in Grace Mennonite Church in Dallas. Elmer worked for Gerlinger &
Towmotor and later Caterpillar in Dallas as a machinist and inspector and
retired after working for 38 years. He was a longtime active member of Grace
Community Church. He enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. Elmer enjoyed
family gatherings and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great
grandchildren. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two
sisters. He is survived by his wife Irene of Dallas, brothers Gus (Jane) of
Rickreall, John of Dallas, sisters, Lorena (George) Thompson, Nezperce, Idaho,
Wanda (Al) Graham of Monmouth, Frieda (Bob) Trussell of Salem, and Martha
(Harvey) Wall of Dallas, sons, Duane (Bobbi) of Dallas, Rodney of Salem,
daughter, Vicki (Mike) Davis of Mabton, WA, grandchildren Kalli (Moses) Ibarra
of Grandview, WA, Jon (Miriam) Davis of Hayward, CA, Matthew (Leah) Davis of
Puyallup, WA, Amy Quiring of Keizer, OR, Niclole Ogle (Brian) Sherwood, OR and
April Quiring of Dallas; great grandchildren Izaiah, Sierra, Kimberly and Jon
Brian. Memorial Services will be on Saturday, July 11th at 1:00 p.m. in Grace
Community Church in Dallas. Private Interment will be in Salt Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Dallas Mortuary
